1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website and services of Elite Soccer Youth Development Academy (ESYDA), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms govern ESYDA's website, ESYDA Connect parent and staff portals, and program services. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These Terms apply to all visitors, participants, parents, guardians, and users of our website and programs.

2. Description of Services

ESYDA is a nonprofit youth development organization offering soccer programs, college preparation services, workforce development training, community programs, and related events. Our website provides information about our programs, online registration, event management, and communication tools for participants and their families. ESYDA Connect includes player records, schedules, team communications, attendance, documents, and payment account information.

3. Platform Provider

ESYDA Connect is built and hosted on Base44, which provides app infrastructure, authentication, data storage, and file hosting for ESYDA. ESYDA runs the program and controls what information the app collects and who may access it. Base44 is a service provider to ESYDA and is not a party to these Terms between you and ESYDA. Our Privacy Policy explains how information in ESYDA Connect is handled.

4. Eligibility & Registration

• Participants must meet the age requirements specified for each program.
• A parent or legal guardian must complete a minor's registration and be authorized to manage the child's information and account.
• Keep your login details confidential and tell ESYDA if your account or parent-player link appears incorrect.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• ESYDA reserves the right to refuse or revoke participation for any individual who violates our Code of Conduct.

5. Fees & Payment

• Applicable program fees, deposits, installment terms, and any additional charges are shown during registration or otherwise communicated by ESYDA.
• Online card payments use Stripe checkout. ESYDA Connect records successful payments, approved manual payments, credits, refunds, and balances in the family account.
• Refunds, credits, and cancellation charges follow the terms provided for the applicable program or transaction and applicable law. Contact ESYDA about an account discrepancy before making another payment.
• ESYDA may suspend participation for an overdue balance after communicating with the family, subject to applicable program terms.

6. Code of Conduct and Portal Use

All participants, parents, and guardians are expected to:

• Treat coaches, staff, officials, and fellow participants with respect and dignity.
• Refrain from harassment, bullying, discrimination, or abusive language or behavior.
• Follow all instructions from coaches and ESYDA staff.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Report any safety concerns promptly to ESYDA staff.
• Use Team Chat and other portal features for program purposes; do not post another player's private information, spam, or attempt to access another family's account.

ESYDA may moderate messages, limit portal access, or suspend or remove a participant for serious violations. Any fee adjustment follows the applicable program terms and law.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content. ESYDA Connect does not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Offensive language in Team Chat is automatically filtered. Any user can report a message or block another user from the ⋮ menu on a message. ESYDA staff review reports within 24 hours, remove content that violates these Terms, and may suspend or remove the account of the user who posted it.

7. Athletic Activities and Risk

Participation in athletic and physical activities involves risks, including physical injury. Review any program-specific waiver and safety instructions presented during registration. These Terms do not replace any separately signed participation waiver, and nothing here limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

8. Medical and Emergency Information

Parents and guardians should keep emergency contacts and relevant medical information current and review any specific emergency treatment consent in the registration materials. For an urgent situation, ESYDA may contact emergency services and try to reach the listed contacts.

9. Photos, Media, and Uploaded Content

ESYDA may capture or receive event photos and other media. Public or promotional use of a player's image follows the applicable media consent or release collected during registration or separately. You retain rights to content you submit and allow ESYDA to store, display, and use it as needed to provide the portal and programs. Please upload only material you are authorized to share.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the ESYDA website, including logos, text, images, and graphics, is the property of ESYDA and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without prior written permission from ESYDA.

11. Program Changes & Cancellations

ESYDA reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel any program, event, or activity due to weather, insufficient enrollment, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our control. If ESYDA cancels an activity, we will communicate the available rescheduling, credit, or refund options under the applicable program terms and law.

12. Privacy & SMS Communications

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how ESYDA and its providers, including Base44, handle app data.

By providing your phone number and opting in on any ESYDA registration or contact form, you consent to receive automated SMS/text messages from ESYDA regarding practices, games, events, and important announcements. Message frequency varies; standard message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. For full details, see Section 10 of our Privacy Policy (SMS Opt-In Policy).

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Maryland.

14. Changes to Terms

ESYDA may update these Terms. We will post the revised version with a new date and provide additional notice of material changes when appropriate or required by law. The revised Terms apply from the stated date.
