Youth Leadership & Sports Safety Initiative: Empowering the Next Generation Through Dialogue and Action

As the world prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, community organizations are taking proactive steps to ensure that young athletes are not only skilled on the field but also protected, informed, and empowered off it.

In this spirit, Elite Soccer Youth Development Academy Inc. (ESYDA), in partnership with Mission 89 Inc., is launching a Youth Leadership & Sports Safety Initiative through a virtual public meeting designed to inspire meaningful change.

This virtual public meeting marks the official launch of a forward-looking initiative ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The program centers on the Youth Ambassadors Program, a youth-led platform that encourages young athletes to take ownership of their development, safety, and future.

By bringing together young people, families, coaches, and community leaders, the initiative creates a safe and inclusive space for open dialogue on the realities and challenges facing today’s athletes.

At the core of this initiative is a commitment to promoting integrity, responsibility, and well-being in sports. Participants will engage in discussions focused on:

  • Protecting and empowering young athletes
  • Promoting safe, ethical, and respectful sporting environments
  • Preventing abuse, exploitation, and misconduct
  • Encouraging transparency and accountability in youth sports

These conversations aim to strengthen trust between athletes, families, and institutions while fostering a culture of respect and safety.

Beyond physical performance, the initiative emphasizes leadership development and life skills. Through interactive sessions and peer engagement, young participants are encouraged to:

  • Build confidence and communication skills
  • Make informed and responsible decisions
  • Serve as positive role models in their communities
  • Translate sports values into academic and personal success

By empowering youth to lead, the program helps prepare them for long-term success both within and beyond sports.

This virtual meeting reflects a collaborative vision rooted in community engagement. Parents, coaches, educators, and local leaders play a vital role in shaping policies and practices that protect young athletes.

The initiative reinforces the idea that youth development is a shared responsibility—one that requires cooperation, awareness, and continuous learning.

With global attention turning toward the 2026 World Cup, ESYDA and Mission 89 are positioning youth at the center of positive change. The Youth Leadership & Sports Safety Initiative represents a long-term investment in ethical sports, empowered leadership, and resilient communities.

By creating platforms for dialogue and action today, this initiative is helping to build a safer, stronger, and more inclusive future for tomorrow’s athletes.
