The Kicking Life into Gear 2.0 Program: Thriving Edition is an innovative and holistic youth development initiative aimed at empowering young individuals, ages 10 to 19, by equipping them with essential life skills and promoting overall well-being. This dynamic program focuses on building socio-emotional strength, fostering personal growth, and preparing youth for a thriving future.
Program Domains
The Kicking Life into Gear 2.0 Program addresses five critical domains that contribute to the healthy development of young individuals:
Healthย and Healthy Relationships Building Skills.
Career and Job Readiness
College Preparation and Education
Financial Responsibility and Civic Engagement
Physical Activity and Wellness
Each of these domains plays a pivotal role in guiding youth toward success, offering them the tools and confidence needed to navigate the challenges of adolescence and beyond.
Current Enrollment: Promoting Health Among Teens!
ESYDA and GHIIL are now enrolling youth in the virtual Promoting Health Among Teens program (under the Healthย and Healthy Relationships Building Skills Domain). This component features the Promoting Health Among Teens! Abstinence-Only curriculum, an engaging and interactive 8-hour program tailored to:
Teach participants about puberty, HIV/STDs, and pregnancy prevention.
Develop crucial refusal and negotiation skills.
The curriculum is student-centric, ensuring a safe and supportive space where youth can learn, ask questions, and gain valuable insights about their health and well-being.
