ESYDA Launches Recruitment for Peer Educators in Kicking Life into Gear 2.0: Thriving Edition

Silver Spring, MD – Elite Soccer Youth Development Academy, Inc. (ESYDA) is excited to announce the recruitment of Peer Educators for its flagship youth program, Kicking Life into Gear 2.0: Thriving Edition. This peer-led prevention and youth development initiative is designed to empower young people in Montgomery County to lead healthier, more engaged, and purpose-driven lives.

With stipends available and 46 positions open, ESYDA is inviting youth ages 11–24 who are passionate about mental health, wellness, leadership, and prevention education to join this transformative program.


About the Program

Kicking Life into Gear 2.0: Thriving Edition places youth at the center of the movement for wellness and leadership. Through interactive education, social media advocacy, and peer mentorship, the program equips participants with the tools to address critical issues such as:

  • Vaping prevention

  • Mental health awareness

  • Healthy relationships

  • Substance use prevention

By engaging youth voices directly, ESYDA ensures that young leaders are not only participants but also drivers of change within their schools and communities.


Roles & Responsibilities of Peer Educators

Selected Peer Educators will:

  • Design and deliver public health messaging and prevention strategies.

  • Lead workshops, tabling, and presentations in schools and community spaces.

  • Support social media campaigns and create youth-generated content.

  • Plan and organize quarterly events while mentoring younger peers.

  • Supervise and coordinate peer teams (Lead Educators).

  • Connect peers to essential health and social services.

  • Participate in training and professional development to strengthen their leadership skills.

This dynamic role blends advocacy, leadership, and creativity, offering a meaningful opportunity to make a real impact.


Qualifications

ESYDA seeks motivated youth with:

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

  • An interest in youth leadership, mental health, and substance use prevention.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
